The registration process will be completely online through the official website — upsconline.nic.in. ELIGIBILITY DETAILS

To apply for the UPSC Civil Services Exam 2026, you must be an Indian citizen with a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.

Your age should be between 21 and 32 years as of August 1, 2026. Candidates from reserved categories get age relaxation as per government rules. MODE OF SELECTION

The UPSC Civil Services Exam is conducted in three stages — Preliminary Exam, Main Exam, and Interview. The Prelims is an objective test used only for screening candidates, while the Mains is a descriptive exam that tests detailed knowledge.

Those who qualify the Mains appear for the Personality Test (Interview). The final selection is based on marks obtained in the Mains and Interview only.
